Primary Therapist
Shelby comes to Legacy with years of experience in personal and clinical services primarily in the Appalachian Cultures’ that dealt with a great amount of moderate to severe mental health and substance abuse-related issues or also referred to as Co-Occurring Disorders, or Dual Diagnosis. Shelby has worked in a variety of levels of care including; inpatient, outpatient, IOP, Group homes, Intensive, and ACT levels of care within the local communities and residents. Shelby has experience working with clients/patients that were; sex offenders, retired and active military, family-generational mental health issues, convicted criminals, former club members, chronically suicidal individuals, human trafficking survivors, domestic violence, LGBTQIA+, narcissistic and antisocial personalities.
Ms. Taulbee obtained her bachelor’s degree in Psychology in Portsmouth, OH at Shawnee State University then obtained her master’s degree at Lindsey Wilson College in Columbia, KY.
Shelby furthered her education by obtaining credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistance (CDCA) licensure. She is currently working towards obtaining her Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, LCDCA III, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional certificate.
Shelby continues to pursue her goal of instilling education around motivational interviewing, harm reduction, generational history and shadow work while instilling a Reality therapy base approach within clients for the best possible outcome for individuals to reach their personal and sobriety goals.
